About Groton
Groton, founded in 1655, has a population of 10,873 (2012 Town Census) and is located in the Nashoba Valley area in northwestern Middlesex County. The town is governed by Town Meeting. With an area of 32.54 square miles, Groton is the largest town in Middlesex County. There are 106 miles of plowed or maintained roads within the town. Town Hall is 320 feet above sea level and the highest elevation is at Chestnut Hills at 516 feet above sea level.

Town of Groton Committee Vacancies
The town currently has a vacancy on both the Finance Committee and the Park Commission. All interested individuals should submit a completed Committee Interest Form to the Town Manager's Office by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2013.


2013-14 Transfer Station Stickers Available
Transfer Station Stickers are now available for purchase either online or at the Town Clerk's office.


Notice to Groton Senior Citizens

If you are 60 years of age or older, own (and occupy) the property you live in and earn less than $65,030 per year ($74,320 if married), you may be eligible to earn a property tax abatement by participating in Groton’s Senior Citizen Property Tax Work-Off Program.

Special State Election - June 25, 2013

Absentee Ballot applications for the Tuesday, June 25, 2013 Special State Election are now available at the Town Clerk’s Office. Monday, June 24 at Noon is the last day and hour to request an absentee ballot. All Absentee Ballots must be received by the Town Clerk by election day in order to be counted.
