 The Trustees of the Groton Public Library (GPL) invite qualified candidates to apply for the position of Director of the GPL. The GPL is a well-utilized and well-supported library serving a community of 10,000. Our library was greatly expanded in 1999 and comprises 17,400 square feet. The library’s collection is currently 81,000 items with an annual circulation of 240,000. The GPL employs 12.5 FTE as well as 48 volunteers. In the last year, we offered 400 programs to children, young adults, and adults with total attendance of 8,900. The successful candidate will have a MLS and five or more years of progressively increasing responsibility in libraries. A strong focus on the Groton community will be essential. Supervisory and budgetary management skills, a strong sense of customer service, vision, creativity, and sense of humor are highly desirable.
The position is full-time, salaried with some evening commitments. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
